Maybe you are an armchair traveler, or there are certain places you would like to see and visit. Sirocco's Curios has this lovely book of 100 of the Worlds Most Beautiful Paintings that could help you in planning your next trip. Or if you're not going anywhere you may just enjoy looking at all the lovely paintings.
An on-line store featuring many different items, some used, some new, some collectible. Weird, fashionable, usable or just pretty or pretty ugly. But never dull! I'll add a little history or background or just a little whimsy to the items I display here. I'll also write about, on occasion, the meanderings of how I'm viewing life, and some fun foods and recipes I find along the way; because life is about the journey not the destination.

Traveling Is An Adventure
The theme last week (falling behind I know!) for the scavenger hunters at ESN is travel. I love to travel although it's getting tougher these days what with all the lines, security and scary stuff going on. I think I'd still rather fly though than take a cruise, those cruise lines are having a heck of a time recently! I like to think I spend my money on experiences; so worth it when you think of the cuisine, rich cultures, scenery and people you get to experience. Even traveling around the USA you can experience such things, although not as drastically as visiting another country. I've had my fair share of visiting other countries and experiences, still lots I want to visit but not so sure I'll get the chance. Scotland is at the top of my list (Hi Colin!) :) and there's a slew of other places too. But if I don't get those chances I guess I will content myself with being an "armchair traveler". If you're planning a trip Le Petit Marché has this cool Travelon Travel Easier Wallet that has many compartments for tickets (or your self printed tickets), ID/Passport, currency, etc. with a long cord to wear around your neck.

Frogs and other Animals
Today is our last day for "frogblogging" on eCrater Stores Network. And we are plum out of frogs! I tell you, everyone who had a frog or knew someone with a frog snapped those suckers up and already wrote about them. Seems everyone loves frogs! My kids had frogs when they were young, those little green tree kind that you keep in an aquarium and were always having to feed crickets. Our house was a zoo, literally! We had frogs, geckos, salamanders, snakes, hamsters, and loose crickets.... everyone of those critters got loose sooner or later and some were never found, especially those frogs, I'd find their little dried out carcasses in the strangest places, wondering, how the heck did you get way over, way up or way down there... thank goodness those days are over and I am currently now "petless". Since I couldn't find anything froggy, I decided to feature Carolina BLue Lady Book Treasures coffee table book: The World of Robert Bateman. You won't find frogs or any other amphibians or reptiles but it's a lovely book with many paintings and commentaries on birds and mammals.

So Many Genres, So Many Titles, So Many Books!
As I said before, reading is one of the most enjoyable things in life. I like and read many different genres of books. I love history books, and I love fiction, well, now that I think about it I love reading almost anything, heck, I used to even read the entire cereal boxes while having breakfast. Right now (usually at bedtime since that's only when I have time) I'm reading "Mouthing the Words" by Camilla Gibb. She's a terrific writer! I also read and loved her novel "Sweetness in the Belly". If you haven't read these you should give them a try. A lot of sellers on ESN sell books, all kinds of books. I've decided today to feature one of our members, Comycgyrl. I don't know if she has the above titles but she has a huge selection of titles. She even has comic books for the collector. I chose the below photo and title because well, who doesn't love a charming and dangerous guy (even if he is blonde, I prefer tall, dark, brown eyes...oh, sorry, I was getting all caught up) and mystery romance novel? She has many items in her store besides books that you may enjoy. Ta for now!

Reading - One of the greatest joys in life!
This weeks blog theme on ESN is Reading. I don't think I know anyone who doesn't love reading. You can travel, learn, smile, cry, laugh out loud, learn new words, have emotional moments and so much more from reading. I love reading. Mostly I only have time to read at bedtime so books like "Anna Karenina" and "Pillars of the Earth" took me forever to get finished. We all know the history of literature begins with the invention of writing, right? I mean, someone had to invent it! So I was curious who, how, and when (I'm like that...) writing and reading got invented. So here is your mini lesson if you choose to continue reading:
I don't have any novels or many books for sale, but I do have a couple cookbooks, books on massage, and an art book. I chose the Ayurvedic Cookbook from my tiny collection, well, because it's so cool and informative and healthy! You can check out this book and others, and other stuff for that matter at Le Petit Marche. Bon appetit!
The history of literature begins with the invention of writing, in Bronze Age Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. Writing developed out of proto-literate sign systems in the 30th century BC, although the oldest known literary texts date from the 27th or 26th century BC. (ref: Wikipedia)If you want to learn more the Wikipedia site has more, mostly hyperlinks that's why I kept this short. I myself have not checked out what a proto-literate sign system was/is!
